On behalf of the board of California Right to Life Education Fund, I would like to share some news with you. As many of you know, our beloved Cecelia Cody passed away last fall, which was an enormous loss for us personally and for California Right to Life. Cecelia was a tireless defender of the sanctity of human life and loved to share her passion for protecting the most vulnerable.
After Cecelia’s untimely death, we spent much time in prayer and discussion about how to best continue her legacy and the work of California Right to Life Education Fund. We determined that it would be ideal to partner with a like-minded pro-life organization that could help run California Right to Life.
We reached out to Life Legal Defense Foundation, which has a long history of protecting the vulnerable, especially unborn babies. As of this writing, Life Legal will provide oversight as well as assistance with the administration of California Right to Life.
In cooperation with Life Legal, we are bringing on Mary Rose Short as Director of Outreach to run the day-to-day operations of California Right to Life. Mary Rose brings a wealth of pro-life experience to the table, including many years of working with students on university campuses to raise awareness about the plight of unborn children targeted for abortion.
In the coming weeks, Mary Rose will begin recruiting and training teams to expand California Right to Life’s pro-life outreach across the State. We are thrilled to have an accomplished and dedicated pro-life champion at the helm of the California Right to Life and we are confident that the work will flourish under her leadership.
