“It was really easy”

Our inaugural summer training conference equipped a dozen high school and college students to be confident and persuasive advocates for the unborn. After a day of classroom training on fetal development, abortion methods, pro-abortion arguments, and pro-life apologetics, they spent the rest of the week engaging the public, practicing in the field.  

The participants engaged with students and professors alike at college campuses and spoke with clients and staff entering Planned Parenthood. Even the youngest participants were able to change minds on abortion. In fact, they were surprised to find it “easy.”

14-year-old Cora said she hates confrontation and was not interested in attending at first:

“I said, ‘That is not my thing, I don’t want to do that.’ But it was really easy. After the first day, I was like ‘I know enough information, we did the practice debates, I’m good.’"

14-year-old Zelie didn’t think she would be effective:

“I thought it would be a bunch of people yelling at me, but it was really easy once you got into it and it made you want to change people’s ideas. The training helped a lot. I feel like I used every single bit of it.”

15-year-old James had a similar experience:

“People were very easy to talk to most of the time, and honestly, their arguments are not the greatest. All the stuff we went through, the mock debates, it helped a lot. I talked to a guy who thought it was okay for rape, to get an abortion. I just told him how that baby deserves a chance and he should help that baby and that mother, and he ended up changing his mind about it. I hope to do this a lot more.”

We are gearing up for a busy fall semester of campus outreach, sidewalk counseling, and more training events!
