There's still work to do

Four years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the “egregiously wrong”* Roe vs. Wade decision, ending decades of abortion on demand in every state.

Now it’s up to us. Without Roe, we have the freedom to establish legal protections for unborn babies - if we can get the votes. 

We have a long way to go. 

Dobbs righted the wrong of the unjust Roe vs. Wade decision, but it couldn’t undo the damage wreaked for almost fifty years. Nothing will restore the lives of the babies lost under Roe. And consciences are hardened after decades of a “right” to kill children.

We have before us the task of persuading people, usually one at a time, that abortion is wrong and should be illegal. And it doesn’t have to be that hard!

Most people we encounter are willing to believe the truth  when they are presented with new information politely and logically. Many have never spoken to a pro-life advocate before and have certainly never had a conversation with someone who coherently presents the pro-life position while listening to and responding to their particular pro-abortion arguments.

We have some tips on how to communicate the pro-life message effectively in conversation. Please let me know if it’s helpful or if there’s something else that should be included.

We never know how effective our words or presence might be. 

Last week while I was sidewalk counseling, a pregnant mom parked outside the abortion clinic. She walked up, hugged me, and started crying. She thanked me for being there and changing her mind when she came for an abortion months earlier. I didn’t recognize her or remember our conversation, but she remembered me. She’s now excited to welcome her baby boy! 

Don’t give up! There’s still work to be done, minds to be changed, and lives to be saved.
